New York Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2012: J. Crew

J. Crew was on serious mid-market point this season, with their womenswear showing a strong, on-trend yet accessible collection exploding with a mish-most of brilliantly styled texture, color and print. It was a look that can be best described as "preppy sparkle" as winter white cable sweaters found themselves interwoven with sequins and pumps were dunked in a healthy helping of glitter.

My personal favorite look was a twinkling hot pink A-line skirt paired with a tone-on-tone chunky jumper and cinched with the tiniest of little brown leather belts.

For the mens, designer Frank Muytjens channeled Edward James and Ernest Shackleton, a kind of Antarctic slick (think back to Westwood Man Fall 2012) with a palette described by the brand as an "inky rainbow," that is to say indigo blues, racing greens and rich purples.
